About Highfield
Highfield Farm has been owned by the Barker family for nearly 70 years. It is almost 250 acres of mixed grazing and agricultural crop land, which can be adapted to the needs of the farm from year to year. You can always be assured that your horse will have plenty of land to graze and are turned out all year round if ground and weather conditions allow.
We have a variety of stabling options ranging from 12’ x 14’ traditional stabling to huge crew yard barns. All our stabling is designed to give your horse as much room as possible. We believe that a horse that has more room to move will suffer less from filled legs and stiffness. As well as the added health benefits that we believe a crew yard will give your horse they will still be able to socialise whilst stabled, which will benefit them mentally. We also have many other options of different sized crew yards, an ideal option for lamanitic horses where grazing is restricted but time with friends shouldn’t be. Horses with chronic obstructive pulmonary disorder (COPD) are also catered for with a specialised crew yard that is extremely well ventilated. Spaces for this option are limited.
